VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT
Watford Skating Club is a Not-For-Profit spearheaded by a volunteer Board of Directors. We rely on the help of volunteers to make regular and special events run smoothly. It's also a great way for parents to meet each other and get a better understanding of what the club is about.
Each family is required to provide a post-date cheque on the first day of skating in the amount of $300.00 date for May 6, 2024. If you fulfill your volunteer requirement for the season you will receive your cheque back when you attend our Annual General Meeting on May 6, 2024. If you do not then we will cash the cheque after the AGM. We don't want to cash cheques and if this amount presents a financial difficulty please talk to a member of the Board or send the Board an email so we have the opportunity to discuss this with you.
What's required?
Each family is asked to volunteer twice throughout the season. One pre-carnival event and one time slot at carnival which is our big year end skater showcase. Throughout the season as we run fundraisers and special events like Santa Skate, Solo Splash to name a couple, we will ask for volunteers. Most commitments are a couple of hours and will be sent by email using SignUp Genius. Our volunteer coordinator, Carrie Pavey or another board member will record and confirm your attendance.
Save the Date: May 6, 2024
As part of our membership with Skate Canada we are required to hold an Annual General Meeting each year at the end of our skating season. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory for our skating families. We require a $100.00 AGM bond cheque post-dated for May 6, 2024 from each family on the first day your child skates.
This meeting is a great way for all families to have a recap on the activities of the season, skater accomplishments as well being involved in the election of members of the Board of Directors.
Your skater will not be able to participate in our programs until we received both post-dated volunteer and AGM bond cheques. Board members will be at the first day of each session to receive these from our participating families.
